The Dubai Municipality, along with other governmental bodies, has been actively engaged in managing the situation. Specialized teams are working tirelessly to address rainwater accumulations and prioritize public safety. The Municipality has urged residents to report any weather-related concerns promptly, emphasizing the importance of staying safe during these challenging conditions.

With the forecast predicting further instability, precautionary measures have been put in place. Dubai’s private schools, nurseries, and universities have shifted to distance learning for Thursday, May 2, and Friday, May 3, ensuring the safety of students and staff. Additionally, the Dubai Police have issued guidelines for road safety, encouraging residents to exercise caution while commuting.

The impact on air travel has been significant, with several flights diverted or cancelled due to the weather. Airlines operating in and out of Dubai International Airport have issued travel advisories, urging passengers to check for updates and potential delays. Indian airlines, in particular, have issued specific alerts for flights to and from Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi, advising passengers to plan accordingly.

In response to the weather forecast, both private and government sector employers have encouraged remote work arrangements to minimize risks for employees. The National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) has elevated readiness levels to effectively deal with the prevailing weather conditions.

Authorities have also taken steps to ensure the continuous provision of essential services. The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has advised customers to undertake necessary measures to maintain electricity and water supplies amid the challenging weather.

Despite the disruptions, the community remains resilient, with residents and officials working hand in hand to navigate through the adverse weather. While challenges persist, the collective efforts of individuals and organizations underscore Dubai’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents amidst unpredictable natural phenomena.
